2009 Event

material for exercise to work week- bikes and horse

THANK YOU, and CONGRATULATIONS to all participants of the 2009 Exercise to Work Week! In total, your efforts helped save a unified 116.4 KG’s of CO2, all while having a bit of crazy fun, and getting even more fit!

The event was made possible by the generous support and backing by community partners- Abiobike Inc., lululemon athletica, YYoga, and ethical bean coffee company. Please take a moment to check these cool businesses out for their awesome products and services, and amazing staff who made this support possible.

Stay on the lookout NEXT YEAR for an even bigger, bolder bash, with Exercise to Work Week 2010! Until then, if you miss the camaraderie of connecting with other smart, sexy, environmentally-minded fitcommuters, check out the newest in social networking platforms, Project Blue Sky. This exciting new forum allows you to connect with other active commuters, AND track emissions savings for every kilometer you bike, hike, run, walk, or paddle. Stay connected to other inspired active commuters & ETWW participants through the new “fitcommuters” group, and add your totals to the group’s!

When it comes to your commuting, keep the spirit of Exercise to Work Week alive! We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event, and talking to you more in our fitcommuters group!

Sincerely,

Alicia Woodside, Coordinator- 2009 Exercise to Work Week!

Event Guidelines:

  1. Track how far you went by going to Google Maps’ “Get Directions”, or any site you most prefer. Enter in a Point A start and a Point B finish location on the map.

  2. Starting at 6am August 24, and until 9pm, August 28, post-up the total kilometers each time you exercise to work, and a little story of what it entailed, on our BragPage and we will do the work of figuring out how many emissions you saved as a result.
  3. Cross your fingers, because you are entered into the draw for an Apple ipod as soon as you post! (Please be sure you included your email, as we need to contact the winner somehow!)
  4. Check out how much energy you burned in the process! Check it out here at Map My Run. Let us know how you did!
  5. Think you’re crazy? Post your crazy Exercise to Work Week experience, for the chance to win a truly crazy lululemon athletica prize pack!
  6. Cross your fingers again, because you really want the title of Craziest Fit Commuter!
  7. Repeat.

After that?

  • Visit our site periodically, to check out the awesome impact you have been an important part of!
  • Craving more than one week of human-powered heroism? Join the revolution, powered by Project Blue Sky. A social network site home to human-powered commuters, Project Blue Sky provides a way to stay connected with other human-powered commuters, further emissions-reductions goals, and even keep track of how much you are responsible for impacting! After making a quick profile, join the Fit Commuters group to keep track of group-wide emissions impact.

Thank you for participating!
